It might be particularly problematic with the Windows &#8220;Edge&#8221;, which does not return a result for umlauts. Why this is so with Windows could not be determined so far. But as an association we don&#8217;t have the time and the capital to create an extra programming for Windos &#8220;Edge&#8221;. Nevertheless, we found a practical solution for those who use this system.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"390\" height=\"60\" src=\"https:\/\/en.musicainfo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2019\/11\/logomusicainfo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3951\" srcset=\"https:\/\/musicainfo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/logomusicainfo.png 390w, https:\/\/musicainfo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/logomusicainfo-300x46.png 300w, https:\/\/musicainfo.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/logomusicainfo-244x38.png 244w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of the special letters \u00e4 \u00f6 and \u00fc you can simply use the basic letter a o or u. For example, instead of &#8220;Sch\u00f6nfeld Marsch&#8221; you write &#8220;Schonfeld Marsch&#8221;. For composers instead of &#8220;H\u00e4ndel&#8221; =&gt; &#8220;Handel&#8221; &#8211; etc.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some tips for searching: use ss instead of &#8220;\u00df&#8221; (in German) =&gt; ss (instead of &#8220;Strau\u00df&#8221; =&gt; Strauss)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">omit special characters: ! ? ( ) &#8211; just enter the title without these characters. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For nordic special letters like \u00f8 just type o (instead of &#8220;n\u00f8tter&#8221; =&gt; notter)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">for French special characters: &#8220;Isra\u00ebl&#8221; =&gt; Israel<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We ourselves use Firefox, with this browser the special letters work without problems.
